Courtney teaches lighting and media design at WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY in Middletown, CT where they are an Asst. Professor of the Practice. They hold an MFA in theatrical design from the UNIVERSITY OF IOWA focusing on lighting, scenic, and media design. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, they worked as a freelance lighting designer for over a decade, as well as owned and operated a production company serving the Northwest Louisiana area.
Previous design credits include MEDIA CLOWN at the Prague Quadrennial, BAD THINGS HAPPEN HERE... at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SLABBER and SHE KILLS MONSTERS at Wesleyan University, SHOE and POLARIS both featured in the Iowa New Play Festival, SWEAT and SUNDAY IN THE PARK at the University of Iowa, The Shreveport Opera's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and COSI FAN TUTTE, River City Repertory Theatre's GREY GARDENS, VENUS IN FUR, and BUS STOP, and many other productions in the Northwest Louisiana area.
