Courtney holds an MFA in design from the UNIVERSITY OF IOWA focusing on lighting, scenic, and media design. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, she has worked as a freelance lighting designer for over a decade, as well as owned and operated a production company serving the Northwest Louisiana area. She will be joining the faculty at WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY in the fall.
Previous design credits include MEDIA CLOWN at the Prague Quadrennial, BAD THINGS HAPPEN HERE... at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SHOE and POLARIS both featured in the Iowa New Play Festival, SWEAT and SUNDAY IN THE PARK at the University of Iowa, The Shreveport Opera's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and COSI FAN TUTTE, River City Repertory Theatre's GREY GARDENS, VENUS IN FUR, and BUS STOP, and many other productions in the Northwest Louisiana area.
Her upcoming works can be seen this summer as the Art Director for UNIVERSITY OF IOWA's Summer Partnership in the Arts and this fall at WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY.
